WhatsApp Status Draft Feature

WhatsApp currently allows users to create Status updates (text, image, video) that disappear after 24 hours. However, there is no way to save a Status as a draft if the user decides not to post immediately.

This feature introduces the ability to save, edit, and post Status drafts later.

User Persona

Users often write or design a Status but decide to publish at a more suitable time (visibility, mood, intent). Without drafting capability, once they exit the composer, their content is permanently lost.

This creates frustration, wasted effort, and unnecessary rework.

Frequent Posters
Post motivational quotes, updates, humor — usually several times per day.

Business Users
Post promotions, offers, announcements timed for peak engagement.

Casual Social Users
Write content but rethink posting — drafts reduce friction.
Creators / Students
Prefer editing, refining, and scheduling.

As a user, I want to save my Status, so I can post it at a better time.

  • As a user, I want to edit previous drafts to improve clarity.

  • As a user, I want to delete drafts I no longer need.

  • As a business user, I want to prepare content ahead of time.
